Frequently Asked Questions

How much does counselling cost?

Individual counselling sessions cost $150.00 for each 50 minute session. Couples & family counselling sessions cost $185.00 for each 50 minute session. 

How do I pay for my session?

Counselling fees are paid at the beginning of each session. Chilliwack Counselling accepts credit card, cash, or etransfer to chilliwackcounselling@gmail.com 

Can I use my extended health benefits to cover counselling?

Yes. Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC'S) are covered under most extended health benefits plans (i.e., Sunlife, Blue Cross, Green Shield) but we do not direct bill. We will provide you with an invoice after each session and you can submit it to your extended health plan provider for reimbursement. Contact your plan provider to find out how what your maximum yearly coverage for counselling is. Typically it's between $500.00-$900.00 per calendar year.

Do you direct bill?

Only for ICBC, First Nations/Métis funded client's. See above for how to use your extended health benefits. 

Do you offer free or sliding-scale sessions?

No, not at this time. 

How do I book a session?

There are two ways that you can book a session. You can book online or by calling or texting Chilliwack Counselling at 604-220-6572.

Can I do my session by video or phone?

Yes. You always have the option of doing your session by video, by phone, or in-person can you can change it up for any session. This means you never have to miss your session due to illness, weather, etc. 

How many sessions will I need?

It varies, but this is something that you can talk about with your therapist during your first visit. 

Do you offer sessions on the weekend?

Yes. Chilliwack Counselling offers counselling services during the week , evenings, and on the weekend. Clicking on 'book online' will bring you to the booking calendar so you can see what days and times are currently available for booking. 

I don't think it's a good fit with my counsellor. Can I see someone else?

Yes! It's so important that you feel like it's a good fit with your counsellor. If, for any reason, you don't feel like it's a good fit please let your counsellor know and she will work with you to get you working with someone else.
